Duke VanLue was born in Tomball, TX June 20, 1980. From an early age, Duke intuitively knew how to take things apart and put them back together, as well as an understanding for knowing how things work. Some people spend years studying in school, but for Duke, all it took was a few technical classes completed at Lone Star College. After graduating from Tomball in 1998, Duke began working in the oil and gas field. He went on to create his own design and consulting businesses, Downhole Technology and Boss Hogg, as he became a leader in the Oil and Gas industry.
As successful as he was at work, his greatest achievement was being a father. He loved his children unconditionally and always put them first. Duke loved to spend time with his family, bird hunt and you could always find him working on his next project. Duke's friends would characterize him as the life of the party and always willing to help a friend in need. His son, Duke Tyler, would be the first to tell you his Dad went full speed at everything all day, everyday, nothing was off limits because he loved an adrenaline rush!
The Lord called Duke home June 27, 2020. To honor his memory, the Duke VanLue Memorial Scholarship Foundation is dedicated to giving back to seniors who want to follow a non-traditional education path, a cause we know Duke himself would have supported.
